This is a wee song about the famous Boher Celtic Football club from Co. Cork
Written and performed by Eric Gudmunsen.
Inspired by John O Dwyer and Dermot O Riordan.

A football club was formed in Cork in 1974
An adult team, a junior team and soon they added more
Boher Celtic was their name they started out just fine
Going on to lift the cup in 1979

Dermot was the main man who organised it all
A hardy hoor who took no shite both on or off the ball
When the ref gave him the red card he had to take a stand
He said You get off ye langer, cos you’re on my feckin land

So shout for Boher Celtic, you’ll never keep them down
And just like Aul Thin Lizzy sure The Boys are Back In Town
The atmosphere in Mallow, you could cut it with a knife
They should be called the Zombies, they keep coming back to life

The locals missed the matches and the pub nights and the craic
So Mike and Conor hatched a plan to bring the Celtic back
They don’t want fame or fortune, there’s no one getting rich
All they want’s for Dermot to donate a feckin pitch

So here we are in 22 and things are underway
If the boys are good their wives and girlfriends let them out to play
And next year with the help of God, if every man is sound
Just like the hoops in Glasgow they’ll be European bound
